Use our directory to find an artist in your area. If you don't find one, search 'artist', 'plein air', and your town or area and contact them to see if they teach, or know someone who does. You may also find a plein air club in your area offering classes, and its members may invite you to paint with them.

After a 35 year hiatus, I have returned to my easel. It feels wonderful having a brush in my hand after so many years. While not a beginner, I am in the process of re-acquiring my skills. Painting en plein air offers the opportunity to get outside in the fresh air while enjoying the beautiful scenery here in Clark County, Washington, and I have scoped out several great spots in the area to paint!
I have been painting on and off for quite some time now and find that Plein Air Painting is sometimes the most challenging, but also has been one of the most rewarding. I do studio painting and commissions in oils and acrylics, love both mediums. I find that Plein Air Painting sharpens my senses and skill to put paint on the panel where I want it to be, with more speed and accuracy while having fun doing it!
Head instagator of the Wisconsin Plein Air Painters Association I love to paint outdoors and help others to learn about painting outdoors. I am also involved in creating events showcasing plein air painting.
My name is Michael Pintar. I’m an award winning plein air artist residing in the Waukesha Wisconsin area. While I work full time in an office, I try to get outside and paint once a weekend throughout the year. I’m always interested in exploring new scenery and painting with other artists, not matter what their skill level is. Interested in painting en plein air? Contact me.
Offering individual instruction, workshops and/or painting buddy trips. I’m always looking for people who want to paint outside. We have some beautiful places in the area. Whether you’re local or from out of town I’d welcome you on a painting excursion.
The Teton Plein Air Painters meet every Tuesday, from May to October, in the Jackson Hole, Wyoming environs. A different painting location is chosen for each Tuesday and the times vary. Bobbi Miller currently facilitates the venues and communication is through email. All are welcome. This is a great opportunity to connect with other painters while visiting the Tetons!
Contact me for information about the TPAP’s Tuesday painting locations. There are no dues or instruction but we offer camaraderie and opportunities for technical growth. firstname.lastname@example.org
