Use our directory to find an artist in your area. If you don't find one, search 'artist', 'plein air', and your town or area and contact them to see if they teach, or know someone who does. You may also find a plein air club in your area offering classes, and its members may invite you to paint with them.
While I\’m primarily known as a studio artist, painting outdoors is my passion and is taking up more and more of my time these days and I’m always looking for an excuse to head out. Available to instruct one on one (or for just a few students in order to keep everyone within the sound of my voice). Experienced instructor at the Colorado Springs Fine Art School of Art, and very fond of beginners.
I live in Colorado high country, Grand County, 75 miles NW of Denver. I’ve been painting Plein Air for about 10 years and love to share the knowledge I’ve gained with others by teaching. I have taught both at our local history museum, Cozens Ranch Museum and privately.
“I aim to capture the mood when I am painting. To catch a single moment in time I use light, shadow, weather, color, and feel. I paint primarily with oils en plein air. I also spend time in my studio working from photographs and studies.”
Linda Marino teaches in a relaxed and friendly environment for absolute beginners to those who want to improve their skills. We will meet up at my studio or on location along the Connecticut Shore, from rocky craigs to sandy beaches, salt water marshes to New England farms, quaint coastal villages to marinas and more. Weekly classes or one day workshops.
Western Connecticut plein air painting group meeting every month in summer. Free and open to all painters/sketchers. No instruction provided. Painting locations provided on Facebook: Pomperaug Outdoor Painters.
