Use our directory to find an artist in your area. If you don't find one, search 'artist', 'plein air', and your town or area and contact them to see if they teach, or know someone who does. You may also find a plein air club in your area offering classes, and its members may invite you to paint with them.

Plein Air Washington Artists’ mission statement is, “To promote plein air painting in the state of Washington by providing painting, learning and showing opportunities.”
I teach workshops in pastel and plein air pastel painting in both the U.S. and Europe, with over 50 full-up workshops since 2005. All levels from beginner to advanced welcome.
My “beginning level” pastel stroke exercises have become a hallmark and give students (even advanced painters) the mechanics of pastel application that no other method can do – in a very short half-day. Different Stroke pressures, directions and color layering provide the fundamentals that do help you quickly understand and actually get the feel for using this very versatile medium . . . in a short time. My workshops are noted for positive enthusiasm and are very high energy.
Student testimonials for my teaching methods and about my workshops are available upon request.
I have been painting on and off for quite some time now and find that Plein Air Painting is sometimes the most challenging, but also has been one of the most rewarding. I do studio painting and commissions in oils and acrylics, love both mediums. I find that Plein Air Painting sharpens my senses and skill to put paint on the panel where I want it to be, with more speed and accuracy while having fun doing it!
Head instagator of the Wisconsin Plein Air Painters Association I love to paint outdoors and help others to learn about painting outdoors. I am also involved in creating events showcasing plein air painting.
The Teton Plein Air Painters meet every Tuesday, from May to October, in the Jackson Hole, Wyoming environs. A different painting location is chosen for each Tuesday and the times vary. Bobbi Miller currently facilitates the venues and communication is through email. All are welcome. This is a great opportunity to connect with other painters while visiting the Tetons!
Contact me for information about the TPAP’s Tuesday painting locations. There are no dues or instruction but we offer camaraderie and opportunities for technical growth. firstname.lastname@example.org
