Use our directory to find an artist in your area. If you don't find one, search 'artist', 'plein air', and your town or area and contact them to see if they teach, or know someone who does. You may also find a plein air club in your area offering classes, and its members may invite you to paint with them.
Laurel Daniel’s lifelong love for nature inspires her focused attention to the landscape. She is an avid plein air painter and her fieldwork both feeds and motivates her larger studio work. Whether working outside or in, Laurel paints to better understand and capture the nuance of changing light. With a degree in studio art and 19 years in the graphic design business, she now paints full-time and teaches workshops in Texas and Georgia. Her work is represented by the Davis Gallery in Austin, TX and the Anderson Fine Art Gallery in St. Simons Island, GA, and is in many private collections.
Val Sandell is offering plein-air painting instruction tailored to the individual’s experience. For those who have never painted “en plein-air” (in the open air), it will be a basic introduction with the student’s comfort level in mind. If one has more experience and wishes to take their paintings to the next level, or have reached a plateau in any aspect of their work, then an instructional “fresh eye” can be helpful. Val has an excellent reputation as an instructor and each person will be given individual attention.
