San Francisco, CA
Capture the true beauty of the San Francisco Bay Area in your very own Plein Air painting. You will learn to complete a painting study from start to finish, and have and unique new way to view San Francisco – through your own painting. No painting experience is necessary, and all supplies are provided for a 3-hour acrylic (or 7 hour oil) workshop that will walk you through simple steps to paint your favorite San Francisco Landmarks. Create a new work of art for your home, the perfect gift, or souvenir. You will leave with a completed painting and all the knowledge to complete a Plein Air painting on your own. The instructor will walk you through all the creative steps to learn and employ proper brushstrokes, and new techniques, and leave with an improved level of skill. The instructor will also troubleshoot individual needs during the workshop.
After many years in the studio as Adjunct Professor of Art at Santa Rosa Junior College, I’m now more available throughout the year for the pleasures of exploring and painting outside, and teaching plein air workshops. My goals as a teacher are to offer people tools and working processes that give them comfort and confidence to explore and create with joy.
My artistic purpose is to support individuals in awakening their powerful essence and oneness with nature’s beauty. This is to be revealed in each painting as I capture a journey of feelings, places and visions. I consider our mind-body-spirit to be an extension of nature’s creative energy and my goal is to connect with this energy, to produce paintings which illuminate my flowering imagination, nourished by nature’s splendor and timeless elegance.
Jane Hunt is a 2016 and 2017 faculty member of the Plein Air Convention. The award-winning painter resides in Colorado, where she continues to be awed and inspired by the natural beauty surrounding her. Hunt teaches both plein air and studio painting and offers in-person and online mentoring.
While I\’m primarily known as a studio artist, painting outdoors is my passion and is taking up more and more of my time these days and I’m always looking for an excuse to head out. Available to instruct one on one (or for just a few students in order to keep everyone within the sound of my voice). Experienced instructor at the Colorado Springs Fine Art School of Art, and very fond of beginners.
Paint the San Juans! I teach a limited number of individual and small group workshops in beautiful Durango, Colorado, each year. Check with the studio for available dates for you or your group. I’m passionate about helping painters advance to the next step, improve their craft and meet individual goals. I consider Southern Colorado to be a true painter’s paradise. My roots originate in the traditions of representational art preserved and carried forward during the Golden Age of Illustration. This gave me a great appreciation for how discipline, craftsmanship and problem solving brought to our love of plein air painting can carry us all forward. The first sentence in most of my classes is, “We need to learn to slow down to speed up.”
I live in Colorado high country, Grand County, 75 miles NW of Denver. I’ve been painting Plein Air for about 10 years and love to share the knowledge I’ve gained with others by teaching. I have taught both at our local history museum, Cozens Ranch Museum and privately.
